Decathlon Non-delivery Compensation

I took annual leave as instructed by Decathlon and Parcelforce. Of course, if they had delivered on day 2, 3, 4 or 5, I would not be seeking damages for the day they actually delivered it. When I reminded them on day 5 that I had taken 2.5 days off and would likely seek compensation for these, they advised me to take one more day off.
It is quite normal to make a demand for payment, but settle for a lower amount if it is settled quickly. For example: parking tickets, penalty fares, nhs prescription fines, among others. It is like receiving a reduced sentence for a guilty plea, because it saves the criminal courts time and money.
I have submitted the claim and paid the £25 so we shall see.0 -

Never had a retailer or delivery company tell me "I have to take holiday" to receive a package... If I have had any issues it is usually "when will you be in" to receive the delivery :TLife in the slow lane0 -
The point is a company cannot repeatedly tell you to be at home for a delivery and yet never deliver. They were made aware on day one that I had a Mon-Fri job and would be seeking compensation for any days that they failed to deliver. This is in line with the advice from Martin Lewis and not unreasonable in my opinion, especially given I offered them many 'free' morning, evening and weekend delivery windows. It is debatable what the daily compensation should be - full pay with tax, without tax, the cost of buying more annual leave, the cost of recruiting someone to sit in your house all day or just some token amount.
In any event, I submitted a claim for £199.99 (as their T+Cs limited liability to this amount) and paid a £25 filing fee. A few days ago, their legal team admitted to the claim and paid out £224.99.0 -
