Delivery company with non existant parcel.

Remember, there never was a parcel for me at all!!
Ok, I’ll condense this down so you get the jist.
I was carded by a delivery company. (Tuesday)
Needed to reschedule as wouldn’t be in next day and cant easily get time off at short notice. Managed to book Friday off.
Phoned delivery company on provided number to reschedule.
Couldn’t get automated system to tally the consignment number with my postcode as last digit was just a mark.
Sent email explaining , gave them name, address, post code and the first 5 digits of the number (digit 6 was scribble) and asked them to redeliver this Friday (now tues). Received receipt of that mail being read.
Friday comes, Friday all but goes. I phone delivery company to be told that there wasn’t and isn’t a parcel for me. I explain I have a card, CCTV of the driver who checks his notes, returns the parcel to his van then returns and cards me. The house number is clearly visible in two locations.
The delivery company dropped a clanger or the driver did.
Emailed again to complain. Received some poor excuse.
So, do you think my case is sufficient to claim against the lost days wages?

Are you expecting a parcel?
There's no contract between you and the delivery company. They also didn't agree to deliver the parcel on Friday
Compensation unlikely I think. But it's nice to see you're getting in to the swing of things around here.0 -

Hi, i was expecting lots of parcels as i order stuff from china.
They DID agree to redeliver the parcel when they acknowledged it.
My gripe is that they had numerous opportunities to tell me but failed to do so.
They admit to rescheduling the parcel but how could they have done that if there WAS no parcel.0 -
Nevertheless your claim (if any) is against the sender of the parcel, not their courier.Hi, i was expecting lots of parcels as i order stuff from china.

Did you not read the part where i said there never was a parcel?
It wasn't clear from the original version of your post whether there genuinely was never a parcel or whether the couriers just couldn't currently lay their hands on it. If they've just picked your door in error then there's nothing you can do about them wasting your time.0 -
Can I ask. Was the carrier Yodel?0

A possible explanation ...
I had DPD's system tell me that I wasn't in, and that they'd left a card. They even sent a photo of the front door. The only problem is - it wasn't my front door! The driver was in entirely the wrong town.
It must have confused the owner of the house who got the card.0
