Self Employment & Tax Return

I hope I'm writing in the correct section...
I have been self-employed now for a number of years... I have an accountant which handle everything every year for me. I will bring her all my invoices, my expenses and she tell me how much to pay to HMRC.
I just got her to calculate the year 2017-18 and I got a shocking bill to pay. Of course, I had a higher income compared to last year but the tax to pay is like 4X higher than previously!
I'm scratching my head a little bit I'm wondering if I should get another accountant to double check she's got everything right? Or is there any online tool which can show me how much tax I owe?

Presumably you mean 18/19?
Have you asked her why it's so much higher - surely that's the first thing to do. See what she says and go from there.
Has your liability just gone over the £1000 figure for the first time? If so, it triggers payments on account where you have to pay the next years' tax early.
She should be able to give you a tax calculation showing how it's arrived at.0 -
Yes not to mention HMRC seems to want a bit of a chunk of next year too :S0
