Which is the best savings account

I have money from my house sale following a divorce. I don't want to keep the money in my current account, I want it put to one side until I find another property so I don't want it locked away for any period of time. Where will be the best place to keep it and possibly earn interest from it and would you recommend spreading it over several accounts

Although you don't say how much money you're referring to, the normal rule of thumb is to avoid holding more than £85K in any one banking group, so as to benefit from FSCS protection.
However, money sourced from selling your home is covered by the FSCS temporary high balances protection for up to six months....0
