Wheelchair purchase

I recently bought a custom made wheelchair after a visit from a salesman to take measurements and discuss options to get the best chair for me. My main requirement was that it was fold able so as to fit in the boot of the car.
Having now taken delivery, we have just discovered that the back of the wheelchair does not fold down, only the main frame folds so it actually does not fit in our boot!
Having now looked on the website is appears the folding back is an 'optional extra'. The salesman (knowing our requirements) did not mention this. I had to have a slightly higher back rest so it is ever more important it folds as it's too high to stand up in the boot and can only fit by folding down the rear car seats and putting it in horizontally - completely impractical.
The wheelchair has now been paid for in full.We only discovered this problem today, when needing the chair to go out with in the car!
Where do I stand on either getting this fixed for free or getting a full refund on the chair?? It was paid for on Mastercard.
Thank you.

Did you specifically ask for and was it acknowledged by the salesman that you needed a folding backrest?0
