Please be aware there is a scam text at the moment.
EE:We were unable to process your latest bill. In order to avoid fees, update your billing information via: https://ee-update. Removed
EE are aware of it.
Personally I think they have a list of EE customers!
So be careful

Woudl it be not easier for them to text all the number that were allocated to EE?
Yeah some may have moved but most will remain.
Even if there was a leak I doubt they would bother with it when the EE number range is easy to find out and much easier.
Presumably if EE know about it, then all messages containing the address will not be stopped anyway (yeah I know, I do not expect competance in anyone who wrote the systems).
Pretty obvious scam though. Anybody falling for it should not be allowed a phone.0 -
I am an EE broadband customer
Humm yeah I guess my mobile number was once an EE number I think.
Oh you want EE to screen and filter txts ?
I’m not an EE mobile customer anymore0 -

I woud expect all companies to sign up to a central list of texts to block.
A blacklist of texts containing links to X would work.
The user should still get something for transparancy though.
To be honest no one uses text anymore and they could drop the service or take it back to it's original intention (which is also not needed on any modern device). Though I guess they way it operatesd it is potentially useful in bad signal areas. I use "voice" even less.0
