FOS wait time

Hi has anyone recently been in touch with Financial Ombudsman Service please? How long did you wait please for them to look into a complaint? I just wondered generally how long to expect eg a few weeks, couple of months, half a year. I understand They cant answer this, but I thought some people out here would give me a clue based on recent wait times. Thank you.

If you work on the expectation of somewhere in the next couple of years, then hopefully you won't be be disappointed.

Depends on your complaint.

If it's payday related, you've probably a golden ticket in being sorted sooner rather then later as these sorts of issues make it onto Panorama programmes.

Least everything is done by email these days I guess but that does require them taking your email address down correctly so it's never the best confidence inspiring start when you have to chase them.

Anything from a few weeks to a few years depending on the reason for complaint.

If its PPI, then its probably going to be in the multiple months range for a while due to the surge in PPI complaints before the deadline.

Thank you for the replies, yes its a PPI complaint so I will expect months then. I will update on here if sooner in case others are waiting and interested.

About 3 months in my case... but the forms are quite lengthy...and I'm finding them a bit complicated too... one is a Complaint form, the other form is for the PPI questions...
