Read your thread Frank, I did exactly the same as you, except when I tried to explain what happened I admitted I was driving.

I find it utterly bizarre that they chase people who have paid for the full period of parking, but hopefully CEL will drop the case once they realise that you are not going to roll over, and will turn their attention to easier prey.1
