Northumbria Energy FEEDBACK PLEASE
I went to USwitch to do a price comparison and as always I selected the option to see energy companies that cannot be signed up with via the site as this often produces cheaper suppliers (no commission to pay I guess).
So it offered up
Northumbria Energy which is a trading style of Euston Energy Ltd
The Tariff quoted on uswitch was called NEO-1.0
So I went to their website
https://www.northumbriaenergy.co.uk/
However, there is no option for a quote, just an option to sign up ( no way I am doing that without a quote)
Searching the MSE forum it suggested in March Northumbria Energy was a white label of Brilliant Energy and reports suggested people had been moved to SSE.
Meanwhile the single review on Trustpilot says
Scammers! Avoid!
This company is the newest reincarnation of Snowdrop Energy. Before it became Snowdrop, it was called Juice Energy. The company seems to annually change their name to hide their horrendous reviews.
The 46% of 1 star reviews speak for themselves.
I know I should run a mile after Solarplicity and Toto was already out of the Frying Pan and into the fire but I can't afford to ignore savings quoted by uSwitch.

Agree it's not clear but their tariffs are available from this page
https://www.northumbriaenergy.co.uk/product-information/
Your NEO 1.0 is here
https://www.northumbriaenergy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/NEO-1.0-ELEC.pdf
You will have to scroll down to find your region.
Sign up process doesn't appear to allow you to select a tariff at the beginning, perhaps when you progress through the sign up process but I understand your reluctance to enter bank details at such an early stage. Perhaps proceed with caution if their tariff is good for you.0 -
Northumbria Energy is owned by Tim Cantle-Jones who was former chief exec of Future Energy, which went bust last year.
I'm so angry with Ofgem that they've given license to people like Cantle-Jones to scam people again and again. Gulf Gas & Power UK, Northumbria Energy, Lite Energy and Saturn Energy were all recent incarnations of energy providers which went under last year.
Here's the full article giving details on these firms that were ran by scumbags: https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-6686657/Four-bosses-failed-energy-suppliers-returned-sell-energy.html
Any ongoing petition to Ofgem to strike off these individuals from getting licenses to supply energy, please share!0 -
Nothing to stop you starting one and hope you have put in a written complaint to the head person .0
