Transfering television recordings from Humax freesat. box

As has been said, you could transfer some programmes to a USB device, but not HD. The USB-recorded content will be at 720p and if you're OK with that, go ahead. But if you are expecting playback on another TV or device to be at HD level - no.
There is/was a “workaround” to transfer HD recordings from the earlier Humax boxes. I found how to do it on a Humax forum and it wasn’t difficult. It is a trick to work around the encryption on HD that ties the recordings to the recorder. The main advantage is to be able to keep recordings if you change the recorder, as you can re-load the old stuff via a USB stick to your new box.
Do a little internet searching and it’s probably still there.0
