Can I try & claim late payment interest !? rather than charges ?

I have been screwed with quite a few interest charges of around £10 when I've paid just a day or two late !

This level of interest is pure profit but is it illegal like the charges ?

For example how do they figure £12.99 interest against me on a £404.58 balance at 1.3% when I only paid via debit card 3 days late plus i guess 3 to reach my account ??? How do i get to the daily interest ? Maths was always my weak point !

Credit cards charge interest on a daily rate from the time you spend.
However as a special arrangement, if and only if you pay in full and on time each month then then don't charge this interest.

So the interest you were charged was based on the number of days from your date of purchase to the day you paid and not simply the number of days late.


Why don't you set up a DD for the full amount then this won't happen again.
