Heat pump dryer. Do they get quieter?

We've just invested in a heat pump dryer to replace an ancient condenser dryer. Do they get quieter over time? The machine spinning is really quiet but the pump? It just constantly sounds like a really slow heart beat!

Depends on the brand. Our AEG heat pump is no noisier than the previous Bosch condenser, but I wish I’d saved cash and bought another Bosch condenser. The heat pump drier takes at least twice as long to dry a load.
  • We have Miele ( in our home and cottages) they aren't quiet but they aren't noisy either...they DO take longer than normal drivers BUT they are MORE efficient. People can't get their heads around a tumble dryer being on for x time when they think it should be y time.

I don't have a problem with drying time just needs a bit of planning.

A washer with good(A) spin performance can help a lot.
