Audi card. Credit card for New York xmas trip

Options
Hi all.

I am going to New York for New Years and plan to buy a few things out there. probably over £1000's worth. as well as spending at restaurants etc...

Initially i was looking for a 0% card on purchases for this trip but soon found out that there was another thing to look out for. foreign currency charges. So rather than the article on best spending cards where HSBC and Halifax are on top i saw that perhaps the Post Office or Nationwide are my best bet. both have 0% on purchases for 3 months and both have zero charges on foreign purchases. After 3 months I am going to be happy to do a balance transfer to another card.

I did see however on one forum thread that someone added the audi card to this list. and investigating further it actually seems to be the best for my situation as it has 6 months 0% on purchases and no foreign charges.

Is the audi a good card to go for despite martin not mentioning it in his article? and are there any other things i should look out for, whilst out there. I plan to put money into a Nationwide account so i can withdraw cash every now and then.... but credit cards will be used for big purchases, restaurants, rentals etc....

Thanks all.

Jonathan.
