OVO - Smart Meters/Storage Heaters

Hi all,

I'm currently with OVO on a pay monthly contract for electricity (electricity only, no gas supply at property), and submit meter readings manually online each month.

I keep being prompted to get a smart meter, but when I tick a box on their booking system to confirm I have storage heaters (2 in different rooms, other rooms have panel heaters) I get a message advising me they can't offer me a smart meter.

Is this poor service related purely to OVO, or is there some generic reason that a property with storage heaters can't get a smart meter, regardless of supplier? My meter has 3 different readings, and 2 different PANs.
