  • The statutory requirement to provide a guarantee rests with the Retailer, not with the Manufacturer. The buyer's contract is with the Retailer, not the Manufacturer.

    There is no statutory requirement to provide a guarantee. I assume you are getting confused with what the Consumer Rights Act actually gives you.
    OP - under EU consumer rights legislation, you will have 2 years warranty, not 1.

    You have 6 years of rights under the CRA.
  • unfortunately, the iron has broke (steam no longer works)

    Do the instructions state that distilled or deminerialised water should be used when filling the iron? and if so, did you do this?

    If you are in an area that has fairly hard water then it might not take long for the deposits to block up the steam jets leading to the problem that you now have.
