Tarrif Not Listed

Hi All, I have just switched to Outfox the markets One Variable Plus 1.0 tariff, but when I go to update my account details in the energy club this tariff isn't shown so not sure what to do about that, as it won't be able to give a correct comparison when the tariff isn't there.Any ideas what to do about please?

To do a comparison you don't really need the tariff details - you need your actual consumption. Ignore any savings quoted )(hey will be quoted against OTM standard tariff anyway) and look for the bottom line cost.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

There are a number of tariffs, and sometimes entire suppliers, that are missing from the MSE CEC.

MSE have admitted that they are unable to keep up with the numerous and constantlly changing tariffs, especially it seems from the smaller suppliers who are not paying them.

The tariff you are on is quite new, having only lauched on 30th July 2019. (and it usually takes at least 17 days to switch)

Can I ask what attracted you to this particular tariff as OFTM had , and still have, another tariff, One Variable Tariff 6.0, that would appear to be cheaper for anyone that is an aberage user or less.
(it's unit prices are slightly higher, but standing charges significantly less)

Do a comparsion on the OFTM (or better still any comparison site that does list your current supplier and tariff) and perhaps get onto this other OFTM tariff; that tariff is listed on the CEC.

But if you really want to remain on your current tariff, and yoiu want an alert service such as the CEC offers, then head over to energyhelpline who offer a similar alert service, and do have your supplier and tariff listed :)

More and more comparison sites are now offering an alert service, so check them out if you don't want to use ebergyhelpline - I'm not intending to endorse them, but I knew they offer a similar alert service, have found your tariff lsited with them, and MSE include energyhelpline as a comparison site in their own article on switching to save (as they offer cashback via a special MSE link)

Btw, MSE Martin said last night now is the time to consider grabbing a fixed tariff because, whilst variable tariffs are currently cheapest, energy prices are on teh up generally.
  • Hi Maxcy,

I went with this tariff after doing the comparison on CEC as this was the cheapest one. I know OTM have had bad customer service due the the Direct Debit change they tried to introduce, but my father has been with them since before that time and had no problems at all. I will have a look at the energyhelpline site too and see what it says. Thanks for that.
