> The OP has already stated they can walk 200 metres several times a day. Just because they use an aid, this doesn't mean they will automatically score 8 points, it doesn't work that way.
This is the crux of my question, descriptors A and C both describe my condition, which one applies? The manual you link says
> 2.1.10 If 2 or more descriptors in an activity are likely to apply on more than 50 per cent of the days in the period then the descriptor chosen should be the one which is the highest scoring.
but I've seen court reports with judgements going either way. There's no variance in my mobility, so it's not a case of good or bad days.
I think I'll try the council again first, I'm back at specialist mobility next week I'll see if they can give me any supporting info that'll persuade them0 -

Could you walk that distance as often as is reasonably required?0 -
I was given a Blue badge based on :
- you have a permanent or substantial disability which means you can’t walk or find walking very difficult
There is no distance specified !0 -

That's what mine is based on too. The guidance for the assessments is pretty strict, equating 'find walking very difficult' with likely earning x number of points if one were to apply for PIP - however this category is why it's definitely worth investigating, because you're right it doesn't necessarily exclude being able to walk certain distances if those distances are still very difficult. I somehow managed to forget this detail because the debate above was about PIP when actually we should have been looking more specifically at Blue Badge criteria.0 -

I agree, but they may also be granted one based on their manner of walking and the time it takes or some other factor, so I do think it's worth the OP investigating that route.0
