Taff, I'm sorry for your loss, take care of yourself.

Redruby have a good break and Gers, I can feel your anticipation through the laptop.

Steve has been sanding, varnishing and fixing the loose joints of the dining chairs we bought from Ebay. They look really good and £14 each for 4 ercol chairs is a bargain.

I am going on a course about overlocking on Saturday and the teacher rang to see how much I already know. She said that she wanted to start with 4 different colours threaded grr because I had that until yesterday when I changed them all to white in prep for the course.

Morning all, apologies for absence..my sister phoned me on Sunday to get back to Wales so I drove back in the afternoon. We both stayed very late Sunday and went back again Monday and my father passed away on Monday afternoon. They'd put a syringe driver on him to deliver painkillers and some other things so he passed fairly peacefully and not in pain.
As you can imagine, now we are running round like headless chickens phoning, making appointments etc to get the things sorted that you have to get sorted so I may be sporadic in the posting stakes for a bit .

I'm so sorry to hear this news taff, my condolences to all the family. It's good that you were able to be with him. Please take some time to breathe during this difficult time. I'll toast your dear Dad this evening and am sending you a big hug.

My own news is much brighter than it has been for a while - with some organising my DM manage to cook herself a meal, the first time since 07 March! :j We are both delighted, it seems not so long ago that the worst outcome was being anticipated and yet here we are. She's not independent yet and may never again be though I am much more content that she will be able to survive without constant supervision and coddling!

Thanks to all for their good wishes, the weekend has been a long time coming.

I've been out to the tip, the chemist and treated myself to Eggs Benedict for brunch. Now that I really enjoyed.
  • TAFF I was so very sorry to read your news. So many families are being left devastated by this horrible disease. My thoughts and prayers are with you all xx

  • Afternoon all. Bright and sunny here this afternoon. We went out for breakfast this morning after taking some food to the foodbank and having a visit from the window cleaner and putting a lamb tagine in the slow cooker.

We came home and I made an apple crumble then it was time for DH to collect dgs from school and give him lunch . We chilled in the gatden and then DH took him to the Bristol Eye Hospital to meet DD from work to go for his first check up since his eye operation. He will be going back to Moorfielas in a fortnight. They are still at the hospital atm. Sigh.

Taff sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you.

Well have a good afternoon folks. Hugs and spoons all round.
