What did you do to mitigate your damage?
Did you ask any neighbours where the stop !!!! was?
Having said that it sounds like probable negligence to me.0 -

Spent 2 hours emptying buckets from the attic until it got too much too fast and the ladder was wet making it dangerous. Neighbours had no idea and the OOH helpline directed to the one under the kitchen tap which did nothing in this case.So claim from whoever employs the plumber.
The Housing Association employs him and are refusing.0 -

Well the carpet and flooring damaged by the flood caused by the plumber. And either repairs or money towards repairs towards the damage to the cracked walls and water damaged ceilings.
I haven't even bothered asking for compensation with my personal property like my bed, tv and wardrobe that have been damaged by the water.
It's caused by the HA employed plumber so I don't see how they can accept it was their fault and turn around and say we wont pay for anything. Does that mean all public service workmen are free to make as many mistakes and cause as much damage as they want without being held accountable.0 -

Why should they pay you for that? Surely they'll send in their own trades to repair their property.0 -
Am really sorry OP but there are people here who enjoy giving newbies a hard time. Sad pathetic little lives & all that.
Sounds to me like you've got a good claim.... have you got a Citizens Advice near you?0 -

Yes, which I presume is what they meant by "repairs or money towards repairs"Why should they pay you for that? Surely they'll send in their own trades to repair their property.0
