Pivot shower door comes off easily.

Hi folks,
I have a pivot shower door supplied by a bathroom fitter about three years ago, just opens like an ordinary door with hinge at top and bottom.
Its quite a heavy door with a glass coating as stated in a little blue sticker at top which says Aquagleam glass coating other side.
The bathroom fitter says it is an Aqualux door.
The problem I have is that our child has leaned against door on outside and door has come off on a few occasions.
Why the door comes off so easy is that on bottom hinge part which is on bottom panel there is a male vertical fitting which is only 5 mm in length and this fits into hinge part on door at bottom.
Due to gravity that bottom hinge setup is talking the whole weight of the door.
Anyone have any ideas as to why that male fitting is only 5mm in length, or could it be that it is a safety measure in itself that door will simply come off rather than break if someone leans against it.
Personally I just think its not a great design so just asking for some advice.

On the Aqualux website you will find technical downloads for all of their products.
Find your shower door and download all the technical specification and installation documents. You should be able to check how it's supposed to be.
The door falling off doesn't really sound right!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
