BT Call blocking phone problem

Options
Wondering whether anyone can advise?

When using the green button to dial a call, there is a signal that a call has been made, and unanswered. When using 1471, it shows the call and states that you can use '3' to return the call.

I don't recognise the number, and am unable to stop the signal, resulting in being unable to make further calls.

Wondering how can I delete the number, and gain the dialling tone again? I tried dialing the number, but the tone still persists.

Grateful for any help.

  • Have you been left a voicemail, try dialing 1571.

You should be able to dial through the tone anyway, try dialing and see what happens.
At times any combination of my spelling, grammar or punctuation may be incorrect. Please do not pick me up for this as, after all, it is only an internet forum.

Maybe it's me not fully understanding how your specific phone works, but I would have thought if you can call 1471, you could call any other number

You cannot delete the number 1471 provides you; it will simply be replaced by another next time someone calls you.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

It is a new(ish) phone, and not sure of all the features yet. I dialled 1571, and there was a voice message which I was able to delete, by choosing '3'.

The phone is now back to normal, with the usual dialing tone.

Thanks very much for your help, much appreciated.

A read through of the instructions would be in order. I often find it's a good idea to have another read once you've grasped the basics, the more obscure stuff makes more sense then.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

You’re right EssexExile. I had a basic read of the instructions to set up the phone, but couldn’t see anything there which referred to the issue. The instructions are a long pdf form consisting of lots of pages, and I didn’t know where to start!

The suggestions provided quickly solved the problem, very grateful for help.
