Here's the thread in question: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5520149/capital-one-2nd-card#topofpage
I did it multiple times over a 6-8 month period with no issues.0 -
Mine is £7250 but a normal card not the high Apr card.0

The Capital One Classic creditcard is one of the best in term of cashback if you include £10 annual bonus (+0.5%) they give you for good behaviour.
The old one I have which I mentioned earlier pays 0.5% on the first £6K pa, then 1% on £6-£10K and 1.25% above £10K.
A few years ago when CapOne were withdrawing all their generous cashback deals I stated that I put one overseas purchase a year on it to give them a few quid in FX charges and keep them sweet with regards to keeping my cashback deal (and it cost me nothing as I would reclaim it on expenses). I was derided at the time, but guess who had the last laughI haven't put any overseas spend on it for the last 18 months as I no longer travel internationally for work, but I still have the same deal.

Their old 'World' card was at one time the best cashback card on the market by some margin - 2% and a fixed £12k limit IIRC. Won't see those days again...0 -

Well if no one could get this cashback rate nowadays there is no point comparing it with the current cashback credit cards.
Just a make up scenario.
If you make purchase £1 month with capital one classic Credit card. You will be spending £12 a year.
With £12 spending you will be getting £10 (bonus) + 0.06 (0.5% of £12). This will equate to 83.33%. Could you beat that,:D:D:D:D

It was not a comparison, simply an observation. And as I said, those days are long gone sadly. But whether in prime or sub-prime, CapitalOne does appear to have a decent record over time for cashback.
As for your challenge - accepted! Barclaycard Platinum balance transfer card has £20-21 available through TopCashback for accepted applications, no mention of any required spend.
So let's see, get the card, spend £0 on it, get £21 cashback. Think that's approximately ♾%, but I'll let you do the math0 -
Just been accepted for Barclaycard with a 5k limit and better APR. Hopefully having the two credit cards will go for me and help improve my credit file further. Big boost to my credit utilisation which is good!0

BarclayCard is Visa and Cap1 is MasterCard as well.
So if one payment system goes down you’re also covered with the other one.0
