Acer desktop monitor

Options
I have a Acer desktop monitor attached to my laptop that has given no trouble for some time but suddenly it has "Auto Config please wait" flashing up on the screen.

How do I get rid of it?

would suggest you unplug the data cable and push both ends back in again.

if that does not fix it plug the monitor into another computer. if the monitor still has problems then try a new cable, and if it is not that then it is the screen

if it not the screen or cable, it is a duff laptop or port.

By far the most often it is the connection of the cable

You still are unsure if it is the monitor or PC.

So have you tried that monitor on another PC?

Have you tried a different cable on that monitor?

Saying all this, it could be the windows screen resolution is not acceptable to the monitor. Boot it up in vga mode or use a live linux boot disk/usb.

updates can change things. So you have since having this issue tried screen resolution, so it is now time to swap stuff... only 3 items: pc, cable or monitor... time to enlist a friend if you don't have a second system :D

The reply you did receive was all you needed to start diagnosing the problem, and you didn't even respond to it with how your tests went.

Aardvaak's always posting about various things that break, provides minimum (if any) information, doesn't follow up on any suggestions and then has the audacity to complain that they get no help.

Easiest solution to the OP would have been to take the monitor to another computer and see what happens. Works? Issue with laptop. Doesn't work? Issue with monitor. That's a two minute test the OP could have done themselves...
