I pay £11 a month on a sim free monthyl deal, its a nice price...
My S6 however is basically done, the battery is horrendous in it and I am forever battling space.
I don't want to get into a lengthy and expensive contract again though, but would consider one around 20 quid.... i need plenty of data though and new phones with a lot of data is always a rip off... ;(
Any phone recommendations? I don't mind buying outright within reason but I don't want to spend anything more than about 200.
What would be a nice frugal update but also an upgrade on the S6?

Xiaomi Redmi 7 is a good shout for about £120.0

Thanks for suggestion, I have never even heard of that company before!
Nice price, is it really much of an upgrade, the S6 still has RAM etc?0 -
Yeah, it is a nice phone I am also using it.0

Just recently O2 were selling the Samsung Galaxy A10 on PAYG for £99, we've been O2 PAYG clients for a long time, bought 2 of them and use the PAYG Classic for our limited use. We both find the A10 large screen great, plus it takes 2 SIMS (if you want) and a micro SD card up to IIRC 264Gb at the same time!0

S6 dying first factory reset to clear the junk then new battery before considering a purchase would be my choice .0

The Samsung A40 is a decent choice also. The specs are quite good.0

Motorola G7 has got to be the best value, but no street cred or whatever.0

Moto G7 Power, £160 from Curries..Faster processor than Samsung S6.. Don t pay for the name with Samsungs or Apple over priced sets.. You will have a 5000 mah battery , forget being chained to the charger. Whos bothered about street cred other than juveniles. No one can tell them apart anyway. They re all slabs of rectangular plastic not a car0

I've been very happy with my Huawei P8, which was about £100 new, ditto my wife's Honor 9. But given Huawei's uncertain future with Android, I'd also be looking at Xiaomi when I next upgrade, as they are now marketing directly within the UK. I believe they are now taking about 9% of the global smartphone market, so not just big in China anymore. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
