Nationwide 2 year tracker at 5.68% with £599 fee through Money Back Mortgages.com with 50% commission back is slightly cheaper for me, only by £30 or so over the 2 years - but we bank with the Nationwide, so it probably comes dowm to brand loyalty and convenience.

    Hope this helps

  • It looks like £1499 fee for the 5.68% rate now, perhapts its changed recently. Still, that requires 10% deposit (all well and good if you have already paid that much off your mortgage, I am remortgaging a 100% mortage after 1 year)
  • has anyone applied for the charcoal offer? was it done over the phone or do they send you all the details through the post as want more details on the offer. As seems a good offer
  • We phoned them and they sent us all forms and info pack through e-mail.

It looks like really good offer, thank to dominicadatia for info!

By the way, for us 95% LTV is not a must (we have got less than 60%) but I still could not find a better deal. Does anyone know better remortgage (without any fees) for LTV<60%?

    Hi Dominic
I'm looking for a remortgage so your find is very timely and looks very attractive too.
Do you know who the provider is of the mortgage? Is Charcol just the broker?
    Thanks

I'm with Britannia, and can't speak highly enough of them. I am actually on a 2-year discount tracker, ending in Feb 2008, and I am now looking around for another deal.

This is a good mortgage from my experience, but the Charcol one look good too. Hope this helps someone. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread over the next few days!

Ive just phoned them and signed up. They guy on the phone seems pretty friendly.
The deal is with the co-operative bank. Hopefully il get accepted as i reckon it a very good deal.
But they guy on the phone told me if i dont get accepted they do have another very good deal which in one wauy is better.

This one is with Cheltenham & Gloucester, as like co-operative there are no fees at all. The interest rate is 0.24 above base rate for the life of the mortgage which is good as you dont have to search for another one after 2 years. There terms are more relaxed compared to co-operative.

Also the amount of mortgage they will lend you approx 4-5 x your annual income which is pretty good as well

    Hope iv been of help.

Just so you know there is a £99 application fee with the C&G Tracker (0.23% above Base) and a £35 TT fee.
