Check your unit prices.
I signed up to v3 the same time as you and now the v4 has been released which has cheaper unit prices for both gas and electric.
Phoned Ebico and have signed up for v4.0 -
Since there is no exit fee it's no-lose on the customer end, at least - if you sign up then prices fall, you can just jump to the cheaper one.
Just a reminder that with v.4 there is in practice an exit fee:2.2 If you wish to leave this Tariff before the end of your fixed 12 month term, the Annual Billed Value will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, based on the number of days’ your supply point/s was/were active under this Tariff, and any shortfalls will be debited to your account.

I can't imagine many people falling into these categories. Hardly worth digging-up a month old thread for.0 -
In practice, the only people who would be affected by this "exit fee" are those whose annual electricity bill is less than £52 including VAT and whose annual gas bill is less than £104 including VAT.
I can't imagine many people falling into these categories. Hardly worth digging-up a month old thread for.

I'm not sure what harm it does unless your intention is to control negative publicity for Ebico etc.

So you've bumped this old thread for the sole purpose of negative propoganda (even when it is not the original subject matter of this old thread)?
As long as we are all aware of your motives here ... :cool:0 -

I wouldn’t class a thread which was started a few weeks ago as an old thread.
Well done you for being so clever.
I was not aware that I would be charged a fee for leaving Ebico as I only read the words ‘zero exit fee’
Now that this has been brought to my attention because of this thread I am grateful to the poster for sharing this.0 -
As the OP of the other thread on misrepresentation I didn't realise there had been such a flurry of posts (I don't bother setting alarms) many of which concurred with my view along with a few for whom Ebico could seem to do no wrong.
No matter, I'd moved on and changed supplier. For what it's worth for electric I moved to Octopus Agile (when the smart meter goes in) which has variable time of day pricing, and I have an average aim for my unit rate to bring the cost the same as Ebico. If I can better that then it will be cheaper for me, and with solar panels and single occupancy I reckon I'll be able to do it no problem.
Similarly with the gas, which is more experimental in how it will save costs but should be interesting to try. If there's any wider lessons to such experience I'll try and remember to share them. :-)0 -

Thanks for sharing. I live in an apartment block where smart meters don't work so still looking around for alternatives for a very low E & G user.Free thinker.:cool:0
