Free equivalent of Microsoft office for MacBook Air

Can anyone recommend free software that I can download which is similar to MS office package for word, excel, PowerPoint etc please I am using MacBook Air

    Try LibreOffice. If the Mac version is as good as the Linux one it'll be well worth having.
  • I forgot Pages and Numbers, not sure if there is a Mac os equivalent of Powerpoint, but more than likely there is, but Libre office is portable between Mac/Windows/Linux

    There is. It's called "Keynote".
    Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.

    Sorry but in my opinion Libra Office is a very poor relation to the real think. If you just want to produce your own documents and your needs are not too specialised then it may be OK. However it really falls down if you need to interact with others working on documents with MS Office or use templates that others have prepared.

    The built in Pages, Numbers and Keynote on the Mac, whilst great in themselves, can have some similar issues but are way ahead of Libra Office.

    I agree. I use Google docs and I find that Sheets do most of what I need to do and I can access them on my laptop, iPad and phone.
