I'm an Ashampoo fan and I have no problems running Burning Studio 5 and 6 on Vista. Once you are registered with them they send you lots of offers, one of which is Studio 7 which includes the option to convert virtually any video file into dvd. I dont need that myself because I have convertXtodvd already and am well pleased with that but see it as a useful burning addition to anyone who cannot convert to dvd already.
You can get Burning Studio 5 free here http://www2.ashampoo.com/webcache/html/1/product_2_0510__.htmI'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Yes, it's built into Vista. Drag the files you want to copy onto DVD onto the DVD icon in Explorer. Click on the DVD icon and you'll see a "Burn" icon appear in the toolbar at the top. When you click that, it gives you formatting options. Select "Mastered" so you can read it on any computer.
