Google Maps - hints/tips/tweaking?

  • I also use Maps.me on my phone, it’s free and you pre-download just the map(s) for the area you want. Unlike some car sat navs, you don’t need to download the whole of Western Europe. The maps vary in size from a few KB to several MB. In some locations, such as parts of Spain, the maps are incredibly detailed with property outlines, individual trees and villa pool outlines!

The app doesn’t need a mobile signal or WiFi in order to work (once you have downloaded the maps). You can mark where you parked your car, your bus stop, hotel, etc. It only has basic “sat nav” capabilities, but as a map in your pocket it’s hard to beat.

    Too complicated?
No, it's just weird, back to front that's all.

I ran it the other night going home and i was going forwards but on the display it was like i was going backwards. I knew the area and could see immediately that it was all back to front so not complicated in the slightest ... just weird.

I did notice how with this setup it didn't zoom in as close. Not sure whether i prefer that part or not. I didn't like it, i didn't dislike it.
