Car hit by emergency vehicle in car park

Options
My car was hit by the emergency vehicle in the supermarket car park.

I was parked in the bay.

He has admit fault.

I have rang car insurance, and as it is not my fault, I won't have pay excess nor lose my NCB

As it is my first time, I'm not sure of the procedure from here.

After sending picture via a link, I received a text saying they believe it is repairable (just some paint job)

My car is a vauxhall, so ideally I would like to get it repaint at Arnold Clark.

  • Your insurance company will have their own panel of garages they use for repairs. Although you can ask, you may not be granted your request.

Arnold Clark would probably sub-contract the work: maybe to the same bodyshop as the insurer.
  • They have arranged the car repaired by Nationwide ARC

I have seen some bad review online

If I want it repair elsewhere, what is the procedure?

Just ask the insurers. It won't be a problem, but they may charge a fee, and they won't guarantee the work.

I don't know Nationwide, but they seem big, so you're bound to find some bad reviews.

When you have bought a car at AC you need a tin hat on to say that. Just about any big business has bad reviews if you care to look for them, especially as people feel more incentivised by anger to leave a poor review than people are grateful for good service to the the opposite.
  • Arnold shark are probably the worst organisation (with the exception of Northamptonshire county council) that I have ever dealt with

They cannot even put on a number plate straight. There's little hope for any complex work.

Your easiest option is to let the insurers handle repairs at their chosen garage. If you are not happy with the work, you complain to insurer and they sort it out.

You will see an increase in next years insurance premium.
