This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Many Congratulations Camelot

Lovely and sunny here, will put a load in the wm in a minute, nothing is better than line dried laundry.

Nothing much happening, will try and do a few jobs done in the garden. I'm going to buy some chard seed, I know it's a bit late but others have said it's worth trying to grow now, I'll give it a go.

take care

• Morning all and thank you for starting the thread silver-oldie.

So far I have one load of washing on the line and a second whizzing round. I have mixed the Christmas cake and that is in the oven, fed the birds and now I'm hungry.

Yesterday I didn't do much, just a bit of gardening and now I have quite a big list of jobs to work through this week.

Hope everyone has a good day

Thanks for the thread SO and hugs to all those in need.

We moved yesterday, one lock and one swing bridge, we can stay here a week.

Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

• Good morning, and thanks for starting Silver-Oldie.

It's sunny here, hope it stays that way.

You're well ahead AOD ! Mind, I was thinking about my Christmas cake the other day. I make an 8" round one, there's usually only us that eats it, though Dgs 13 likes it, and sometimes we have visitors that like it.

Camelot, I'll congratulate you again in case you didn't see what I posted last night. So pleased Sophie is here at last, and hope DD is all right.

We went out yesterday, to Tynemouth market. It's on every Sat and Sun, in the old station, It was a nice day out. We had a picnic lunch, then later bought fish and chips at North Shields fish quay, lovely.

Better do a bit of housework today, and should really tidy the garden.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Take care folks xx
• Morning All

Thanks SR, I did see your post, I always try to read the later posts on yesterdays thread before todays.

Yesterday saw a stiff breeze but no rain until about 4pm so I dug up the rest of the potatoes and cleared away the beans and peas at the allotment. Just a couple of courgette plants left that have courgettes still growing. I was going to do something in my own garden but the deck chaps have taken away one set of steps and haven't built the others yet so I can't get down there!

DS1 is coming over today (minus the DGC) to see DD and the baby, I'll tag along. Seems their first night wasn't too bad.

I've finished the washing off in the TD, that's folded ready to be put away. Bathrooms to be cleaned shortly.

Have a happy Sunday, take care. XX

Morning all

Its a lovely day here with the sun shining, OH has his work clothes in the wash and we will hang then out to dry, he is also going to get his shirts down and he will iron them (I dont do ironing) ready to pack, we will get most stuff packed today with just a few bits to go in last moment, the hard part for me will be deciding what shoes to pack !

This morning I am going to empty and clean the fridge out, there is not much in there atm so an ideal time to give it a good clean, OH will probably do the lawns as well otherwise they will out of control when we get back.

BBQ tonight we have some pork fillet to use and some skinny kebabs from aldi which are nice, will do sweet pots and salad too.

We will take the pup out for a long walk today as well, maybe the beach if the tide is out.

Camelot how is the baby doing ? xx

Have good days all xx

Morning :hello:

My feet feel better. My leg is much better but I still struggle to reach my right foot properly, so using the foot file was OK but the nail filing was a bit difficult – not sure the nails on that foot are neat and even :D I had a couple of bath bombs but have no bath so I was looking for ways to use them. A quick google gave loads of ideas, best for me was a foot soak because these bombs have oil in them. What I didn't realise was they also have glitter in them so I ended up with sparkly feet :rotfl:

I had peace for five hours yesterday morning, it was bliss :D I managed to eat my favourite food and watch one of my shows before mr tru came home, then spent the afternoon pottering about in the garden. I haven't moved that much on a saturday afternoon for years, lol.

I've folded yesterday's clean washing, done another load and cleaned the kitchen. Not sure what's happening today, no doubt mr tru will want to go out somewhere. Pffft.

Morning Everyone,

I always make my Christmas cake towards the end of October. I use a lot of Brandy in the mixture. I shall make a smaller round one this year, as with only two of us now, a large one is too big. I might also have a go at making small mini Christmas cakes. My cake when made is sealed in a tin until about a week before Christmas, when I ice it with almond paste first and then the icing.

It is Sunny here a load of washing is in the WM. Today we have too carry on clearing out underneath the stairs. It has been dumping cupboard for a while. We put out the old tumble drier for the scrap man too take. Need to sort one area out and clean the walls etc . I will paint and decorate the walls later. Also it needed clearing out as I was persuaded to have a smart meter and to fit it they will need access to the cupboard.

Hopefully will get chance too sit out in the lovely sunshine too. Have a lovely Sunday everyone

Morning everyone
Congratulations Camelot...enjoy your cuddles.
I had little grand daughter to stay on Friday night and then kept her till about 4pm yesterday so a lovely long time. We played and sang nursery rhymes and had lots of cuddles. She really is gorgeous.
She also slept for 2 hours so I could read some more of my new Margaret Atwood book...Is anyone else reading it?
I have some ironing to do this morning, then down to my mam and dad's to write dads email to eldest DD in Sweden...he talks and I type. Then I'm volunteering at our cinema/theatre this afternoon for Mrs Lowry and Son...I'm looking forward to it.
