Bathroom useable as is though not to your taste,
£15000 on 70s house for cosmetic work basic furniture needs will go far whatever part of the country you are in. Local plumber in Dorset advise bathroom refit from £350 presumably like for like plumbing.
Look to spend max £4000 on bathroom electrics and heating leaving you at least £3000 for remainder using either IKEA and or secondhand/donations for furniture. Lots of barely used furniture and appliances on Gumtree/facebook/ebay.
If you were employing builders to do up an older house you could spend a lot more on replastering, roofing etc as well as above.
Houses later than 70s tend to be maller.0 -
Thank you all for super useful information and advice! I will take all this into consideration to decide whether this is a house for us.0
