Dell pricing around Xmas

Options
Hi

Does anybody know how Dell traditionally price just before and after Xmas?

As I'm due for a new home pc purchase I wondered whether it may be worth hanging on for a few weeks to benefit from any seasonal pricing?

Cheers

There is 10% off at the moment.Sorry not sure where i see it now, might have been the Daily Mail. Free shipping is a better deal as that saves you £60+. Dell outlet is good as well you get one cheaper on there.

That's interesting, anyone know what Dell's financial year is? Some companies go from March to end Feb, not Jan to Dec.

We buy about 500 to 600 PCs a year and for many years they were from Dell. Once they had a big ad drive, discounts, extras and many ads in the sunday papers. Found out that way wanted to increase their sales in comparison to the previous year. Cant remember what time of the year it was though.

Think their next year will be interesting as large orgs were told "sorry, vista only" forcing our hand, so we have tendered elsewhere. It has been said recently Dell will supply xp again, but in our case tenders have been accepted, so end of Dell and I'm sure we are not the only ones.

it depends on how well dell are doing in any given quarter, so its hard to predict.

Check out www.dmxdimension.com for a summary of the best dell deals, particularly the vostro range.

A companies financial year can run from any month + 12 months, so it could be 1st Jan to 31 Dec, 25 June to 24 June etc. But many companies operate a fiscal year, 6th April to 5th April the next year as it can make tax more straightforward matching the tax year with the financial year.

If you do a search on companies house (providing they come under that jurisdiction) you'll find the accounting details..

To find the best / current Dell deals try using: http://www.dmxdimension.com/ as pgilc1 mentioned above.

I'll run with Browntoa, I'd expect prices sneek up a few quid around now and then stay high during January - the way it went 2 years ago anyway.

The ever-mentioned www.wizmarkcomputers.co.uk is in a similar vein to dmxdmension.

If you want an simple example we've had a £300 delivered laptop for most of the year on the Dell website. See if it remains £300.

I've not been lucky with Dell Outlet recently.
I've found a machine there - then priced a similar new Dell machine and found the outlet to be more expensive.

On the normal Dell site it's always worth pricing the machine closest to your spec rather than upgrading a lower spec offer. Try both methods and see!

www.wizmarkcomputers.co.uk and ww.dmxdimension.com are both brilliant summaries of the best offers. Go to one of these first - get the Evalue code and then go via Quidco. You can put any number in the first half of the Evalue code entry. e.g. 123 D115008
