Buying first house under £300K

Hi there,

After years of renting we are finally looking for a house to buy. So being FTBs, we really need a second opinion.

The property will only be for myself and my partner and will need to commute into London - Shoreditch area (Liverpool St / Shoreditch High Street) daily with a max journey time 1h 30min. In terms of a season ticket, we don't want to spend more than £300 - £350 per month.

We are looking for a 2-bed house with a garden to be situated within a safe area and close to public transport.

Many thanks in advance for all your help :)

you may not find a house that ticks all your boxes, especially at that price, you will need to compromise, happy hunting

There's a big estate of ex council properties in Barking/Dagenham & you might be lucky enough to find a house there for your price. I don't hold out much hope though. You might be better to include flats in your search to increase your chances of finding a 2 bed property for under £300k.

I don't live in that part of the world, but even a 2 bed flat in my area of greater London tends to be between £375k-£450k.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
