Hi everyone.
I have just discovered my husband had been gambling and has tried numerous times over the last month to take out online loans with my name as guarantor. All of which he has been denied.
I now have at least 12 markings on my credit report and concerned this has impacted on my overall credit score.
I never gave him consent to use my details as guarantor. Can i contact someone to have these removd from my file- as looks like ive been despite for a loan.
Thank you

Hi! Welcome to the MSE forums.
Hubby needs help with his gambling problem. When the fun stops, stop. Did you check all 3 credit files?
Equifax (clearscore)
TransUnion UK (Credit Karma)
Experian (MSE Credit Club)
Do the searches show as Quotation and personal searches (a “soft” search) or as Credit application searches (a “hard” search) I suspect it’s the latter and he’s left you in a difficult situation. You can add a “notice of correction” -
A notice of correction is a note that gives further explanation of the information on your report which is not necessarily wrong, but you believe might give lenders a misleading impression of you. For example, you might want to explain that a period of missed payments was due to a redundancy or a change in family circumstances.
The hard searches will remain on your file for 6 years. Over time their impact will lessen. Right now you may have trouble being declined for applications you make.0 -
They show as credit quotation and idenitfication verification. I have checked mse and clearscore. Credit karma couldnt verify me for some reason??
Worries that it looks like ive tried 12 companies for loans which i do not require.

Your credit score won’t be impacted since it’s not a thing used by lenders.
If the searches are just quotation searches (soft searches) then they won’t be visible to lenders.
You have 2 options - talk to your husband and advise him to stop and get help.
Or, contact Action Fraud and report it to the police.
Or a combination of the above.0 -
If you go to Search History in MSE Credit Club, it will say "Searches that may impact your Credit Score"
Do these searches show up in that section?0
