Anyone notice that Tesco are becoming more expensive lately?

Howells madeira cake £1.89 at Tesco,

£1 most other places including one pound shops.

You can tell I am a big fan of madeira cake...lol

If its being sold in pound shops, , that’s a good enough reason for me not to eat it.

On the other hand, Tesco is currently flogging 1.5L bottles of Pepsi for 90p. They're about £1.50 elsewhere.

    Prices are swings and roundabouts.

You could probably save quite a lot of money by comparing prices at mySupermarket if you access to a good selection of supermarkets and the time to chase down bargains.

You do realise most branded goods are sold in pound shops, such as Kellogg's cereals, confectioners like Cadbury's, tinned goods like Heinz?
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I agree that Tesco has become more expensive recently. I still shop there as it is the most convenient but they are not competitively priced if you compare them with Asda or Morrison's.

Haha, I don’t dislike poundshops. I do dislike a lot of the food they sell.
  • But poundshops sell slightly smaller versions of the ones on sale elsewhere.
    Check the labels.

I find Tesco's pricey, I mainly shop in Aldi, and go to Mrt's on the way home as I am passing anyway, to see what prices / special offers they may have on, some times I buy, other times I don't.
