How to Change AOL Email Password??

I have 2 programs configured to automatically retrieve my emails from aim server so I know it's not me entering password wrong because it's saved in the programs. It's just saying my password is wrong.
So I have gone to the screen name sign in page and tried to reset it but it asked for details I used when registering which I can't remember such as alternative email address. You can also enter personal details which includes a postcode but I can't remember where I was living at the time of registration. I have tried every postcode I can think of though.
Another point is AOL is not my ISP so I don't think I can ring them and ask them to reset it.
I'm hoping AOL is just having tech problems and it's not that someone has hacked into my account and changed my password.
Any thoughts? Should I Call +1 (866) 257-5356 AOL Support number to fix and Change AOL Email Password

Are you in the UK?
If you are then what is now AOL UK is managed by TalkTalk.
So if you're not with AOL now who are you with and when did you move to them?0 -
Login using a browser its probably another box to tick to say you have read the new terms and conditions.
I use thunderbird and it suddenly stopped getting my old AOL emails, used a browser and I was prompted to verify my identity and add a recovery option. Slight problem is that they have all the wrong details even though it was a staff account.
And good luck if you need to speak to TalkTalk about an AOL account. I had to contact them for a friend who lost her internet connection. After she tried and failed to get an answer she asked me. They said the router was faulty and had one on the way.
I logged in using my account details and it connected fine so the connection was OK. Seems they had scrambled her password because she received a dodgy email???? So receiving an email and deleting it results in them scrambling your account???
I was also bounced between 3 phone numbers none of which seemed to know what AOL was or how to resolve the issue. I phoned one number and they said of you need to call... Checked the number i had just dialled and thats the number i was on... Telling me to call the number i was connected to... Useless.
Shifted all my important emails away from them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Hi
If you need help with an AOL email address you need to speak with AOL. TalkTalk took over AOL broadband accounts some years ago in the UK but the email accounts are still supported by AOL and have no connection with TalkTalk.
