"second" bank account recommendation

I have my bank account with A&L and my husband with Lloyds. Until today we had our joint (bill) account with Lloyds. However I have just received a letter to tell me that for my £100 extra overdraft I accidentally went over this month, I will be charged a £15 set up fee and £20 a day for up to 10 days (so by the time money transfers from my A&L account, it will cost me £215!).

So (after that little whinge) can you recommend me a good joint bank account for paying bills. If A&L are good for a second account, then obviously it'll be easier to use them, however I am open to anyone. A minimum of £1200 goes in every month (which I think avoids most accounts with charges).

Thanks for your help
