Alloy & Tyre Damage

Hi,
I took my car into a local garage today just for an oil and filter change but when I got home I noticed that the front drivers side alloy and tyre has been significantly damaged. It was not there before I am the only person who drives my car so I would have known if I had gone into something and I never park up on the right hand side of the road. I don't know if I can do anything about it? Do you think I should contact the garage and ask if they know anything about it?

You can certainly ask but if they deny all knowledge, how can you prove that the wheel and tyre were fine when you dropped off the car or that the damage didn't occur on your way home?
If it went in for work that required a road test afterwards then you might have more of a case but for an oil and filter change, there is no reason for the car to be driven afterwards so proving that they caused any damage would be extremely hard, if not impossible.0 -

Unless its been used to pick up their fish and chips or collect parts.
Was the mileage noted before it went in? I always 0 my trip computer. Is there dirt in the scrap? Pics?0 -
Going to be very hard to prove now. Unless you pointed it out when you picked the car up.Life in the slow lane0

No I didn't think to do any of those
I normally get my car stuff done by family members who are mechanics but this couldn't wait until next month. I have a picture of the damage but not a before pic. 0 -

No I didn't even notice it until a few hours after I got home and I was going out.0
