Ex husband claimed my PPI refund

Before the PPI deadline I contacted a firm who handle people’s PPI claims. I then got a letter from the CoOperative bank which informed me that a refund was due on two bank loans taken out many years ago. At the time I was married, the loans were joint. However we divorced in 2003 and he filed for bankruptcy. Our house was sold and I was left to pay off half of our joint debts.
The letter I was sent from the coop stated that the refund had been claimed by my ex amounted to around £6,500 but his half was taken by his insolvency but that they paid the other half to me. I never saw any of this money and assume that he signed the documents fraudulently. How can I get the money that was due to me and has he committed a criminal offence?

Be aware that you'll need proof that he signed the documents fraudulently, not just assumption.0 -
I have asked the bank if they still have the form that was signed.0

Write back to them advising there must be a mistake as you are still waiting for the payment to conclude your case.
You can ask for the evidence of payment but again, you can query the bank details it was paid to etc
Ask for the information to fully assess the situation0 -
