Overdraft charges-agave been labelled schizophrenic

I have my bank statements here from 2007 before I was diagnosed schizophrenic in 2011.

I wrote to the financial abundsman in 2017 but was told it was too late now.

That was the abundsmans point.

I was wondering what are the rules for someone who is diagnosed schizophrenic and been in and out of mental institutions since 2011.

A mental health clause perhaps.

You are years too late to claim back bank charges.

If you are in current financial hardship, contact the bank to see how they could help. That may include a suspension of charges for a period.

There are certainly no "rules" which apply specifically to your mental health condition.

However, if you are in the bank's definition of current Financial Hardship you can make your case to your bank to see what help they can offer you now.

What the Bank won't ever be doing is refunding your Bank charges dating from 2007 or 2011. They may decide to refund some recent charges, but they are under no obligation to do so.

Your current bank can possibly help if you are in current financial hardship but they have options besides refunding money.
You will not be able to claim any money back from banks you no longer bank with.

Because they don't refund historic charges. You can only expect help for your current situation.
