Can I make a DIY wing mirror?
Yes I know this sounds really daft. Wing mirror has been smashed off the car; need the car on Monday for two days; can't source a replacement part and fit it before Monday.
Is there any way of doing a temporary fix, buying a small mirror and somehow attaching it to the car?
Btw when I say mirror is smashed, I mean, its as if the car was not designed to have wing mirrors. Theres just a bit of the "stalk"/arm remaining.

What side?
If it's nearside/passenger side, just take the stalk off and drive with 1 interior mirror and 1 wing/door mirror for a couple of days.0 -

It's passenger side.
Is it legal to only have a driver side door mirror if the car is built with two mirrors?
Perfectly OK - may be an idea to tidy up any sharp edges left that could injure a pedestrian/passer by ...but otherwise you only need to have one "working" rear view mirror0 -

Thought con and use regs stated two and one must be the drivers side. The other one can either be the passenger side or centre.0 -
What car is it?
Local scrappy might have one, probably not the right colour but it's an option.
Take interior covers off, unbolt / unclip the fixings, remove what's left of broken one, put new one on, clip / bolt, replace interior cover.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.0 -

My 1958 MGA roadster has only single mirror mounted centrally on the scuttle. That car always passed it's MOT tests in the days when it needed to have them0

Think I've seen stick on/suction ones in a caravan centre for temporary use. No, not a caravanner!Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience? Why? So you can argue with them?0

MOT requirements reflect C&U requirements.

Pre-78 - one mirror, any of the three positions.
Post-78 - offside external plus either internal or nearside external.0
