Sounds like you are getting yourself sorted in your new place. 4 hour trek through London actually sounds quite nice. Good you getting to see your mates again even if all we can do is walk with them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Can see it being extended too...can see why though, was packed around here on Sunday as everyone hangs around by the river when the sun is out.
Some good news on the money saving front. Switched to a sim only deal and now pay £12/month for 25gb data. My bill last month was £70 where I had to purchase more data twice, though the max I have ever used is 21gb and the WiFi didn’t reach my room, so should be all good now! Previous contract was £36 ish a month.
Still waiting on council tax bill, water is £42 until they come to assess for a metre in early February. No idea on gas and electric but once I’ve been here a month I’ll have more of an idea what the best provider/tariff is to move to.
10pm bed time didn’t succeed as the football didn’t finish until 10.30 and then felt the need to watch an episode of vikings. Was in bed by midnight and asleep before 1am for sure (fell asleep not long into my podcast). Phone alarm woke me up at 6am (I set up do not disturb and it seems to have automatically set up an alarm for the end of it, which I must’ve turned off in my sleep yesterday). Nodded off again but woke up at 7.30 so that’s progress I guess ha. Feel tired but hopefully nod off earlier tonight as a result and get back to normal.August 2019: £28.8k

NaomimYeah, it is really cool to just mooch around. Right by the globe theatre there are some really cool victorian townhouses, apparently where the bishop and dean of St Pauls reside (just across the millenium bridge), and you can always have a bit of a peak and see how the other half live ha.It is funny though, as I'm sure you've found you begin to take a lot of this for granted after a while, that's why I like to explore new bits. Even though Lambeth/Vauxhall/Battersea aren't as cool/scenic in some ways, even in lockdown it was cool experiencing that different vibe, the road being closer to the river so the squealing of sirens etc. Strolling past spots where you've formed memories (old date spots etc.), particularly from my early days in London and realising how far you've come in that time. Then some !!!!!! walks past with a boombox and ruins itClearly getting old ha.
Shop arrived, it's stranged how good it feels to have the cupboards fully stocked etc. I actually got a bit of a feel good rush from it, it just made everything seem more homely having the cupboards and fridge/freezer pretty full! I really need to plan meals though to make sure stuff doesn't go out of date...Haven't really listened to music too much since I've been here, when I shared with a mate we'd play it the moment we woke up and then the moment we got home from work. I've loved music ever since my teens and always listened to music virtually 24/7. I don't know what's happened but now the shop is here I suddenly feel settled and I'm playing music through the Sonos. It's like the final piece has fallen into place...I can relax and don't have to go out for anything...Did realise I need some place mats for the table. I haven't yet ordered the new duvet cover and pillowcase set, so thinking I'll get the place mats at the same time as should bump the order over £50 for free delivery. I've realised I have no idea about colour schemes and what looks good ha. Room is white with dark brown furniture and a medium brown hardwood floor, curtains are white/cream with small red emblems on...Any ideas? (least bachelor question ever)...August 2019: £28.8k

Boombox? FML thought you’d moved back to London not travelled back to the 80s?
Listen to a lot of music too always on in the background. Wife is massively into her music - went away to sing at uni doing a music degree but too much theory apparently lol. Been avoiding it today tbh, paranoid my staff know something going on with the decaf order and no radio on in the car haha. Bit sad I’ll possibly never be able to play some music again - hear some music and straight back to wanting the chang lol.
Place mats - bring out the red vibes maybe so red/ oranges/ sunset type colours.1 -

Was thinking the bedspread as well and not sure I'm brave enough for orange there ha!I know what you mean re: the music...there is some music I feel uncomfortable listening to for varying reasons ha. I think that's probably why I've not been listening to music of late, as everything I listen to at the moment reminds me of back home. There's certain music I'll listen to when wasted on the way home and always makes me feel a bit anxious listening to it sober ha. Maybe make a sober playlist or listen to something new in the same genre? I find music so important for mood etc. Why I'll always spend decent money on the audio set up.I wouldn't worry too much about the staff. Everyone is up and down in lockdown anyway and everyone is trying all sorts of ways to feel better about themselves. Giving up alcohol/drinking more alcohol/drinking decaf/more walks and exercise/dieting/sleeping more...I don't think I know anyone who isn't trying something ha.August 2019: £28.8k

Lol I thought you meant old skool style, some London hipster ha.
Bedspread - because this is how !!!!!! sad my life has become, keep away from the stuff and spend my time looking for bedspreads for southern tarts who can’t work out how to decorate a flat FML I seriously !!!!!! dread the day you buy somewhere and need to furnish it yourself, just kill me now mate. Anyway, I can’t link as just opens in JL app but if you go on google type ‘orange and white bedspread’ there’s a patchwork one for £160 and a plain one for £200. If you want to be really !!!!!! frugal you could make your own haha. Seriously, both look nice.
Haha glad I’m not the only one with the ‘drunk music’ lol tbf know a few others too. Wife said same not to avoid music altogether just find different music and not listen to radio put it on music app - don’t know what’s going to come on.
Yeah true re staff I’m just paranoid; they’re all on some BS lifestyle/ health kick tbf. Suppose I am too lol.0 -

You're nesting @ryanm8655. Normally the preserve of pregnant women but that's why you're happy getting the cupboards full
Bedding - with dark furniture I'd be tempted to stick to all white main bedding and then the reddish accents on a throw or blanket across the end. White can be a bit unforgiving though.
Hilarious - you and @alt80 picking duvet covers together.

If the room is dark Ryan then I would go for a bright accent colour like red or orange so agree with @alt80. If you don't want it to be totally red/orange then a pastel duvet with accent throw as Warby suggests is a good call. Don't do as my brother did and bought navy blue everything making the house look dark and cold. I took him in hand last time I was able to go up there and we bought pale grey with teal as an accent colour for things like cushions, place mats, crockery etc. It looks so much more inviting there niwI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
