Roof window flashing gone and damp getting into room causing crumbling plaster - what tradesman?

I’ve bought a house and some roof flashing is loose around a roof window meaning damp is getting in and the plaster in one corner of the room is crumbling.

Is there one kind of tradesman I can get to do this whole job or do I need a roofer and a plasterer?

Alternatively, if it’s just a small flashing job, I’ve seen B&Q sell flashing tape - is this something I could fix myself or would I be foolish to?

Do it properly, do it once.

Flashing band is okay but you still need someone to do it properly and it won't last forever. I wouldn't be that keen to use it on something important like the actual house. Use lead and you won't shouldn't have to worry about it ever again. It will last a lifetime.

Wait a good while for it all to dry out properly before calling a plasterer in.

Do you mean flashing around a velux type roof window?

If so, replacement flashing kits are available from velux and presumably their counterparts. They aren't deadly expensive and the online YouTube videos from velux showing installation instructions means you can do it all on your own from inside.

I've found Velux customer service to be helpful and responsive.

I've guessed at a velux window based on the fact you said it's a roof window and you have plaster, so I'm guessing at a loft room.
