My Iphone 5 SE has stopped played sound through its speaker. Oddly, I can confirm that the speaker is still working however, as when I go into ringtone settings, it still plays a ringtone through the speaker.

I can confirm that silent mode is off. I've not dropped it, or got lots of water on it or anything. However, today I did get some sand and slight moisture on it.

Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks.

    I take it you've rebooted it ?
Put it in a box of dry uncooked rice (cover it) in airing cupboard for a day switched off.
Probably its time for a new one though,
  • Do you get any sound through ear phones?

Reboot it, and go into settings and ensure all volume is turned up.

Iv had that before, and the way I fixed it was to ask siri something (but got no sound) and then click the volume up button at the same time as you know siri is speaking (but hearing no sound).

That seemed to bring up the correct volume bar to change - odd I know
  • Thanks for the replies.

The sound has re-appeared overnight. However, the phone is still acting oddly. For example when I plug in the charger, sometimes the charging icon does not appear, even though I have confirmed that a charge is going into phone.

Not sure what issue is. I doubt very much the tiny bit of moisture I got on phone has caused this (if that is the case, you would never be able to use this phone in the rain.)

I am wondering if a recent IOS update has messed the phone up.
