Windows Live Mail - alternative?

Options
For you desktop users.

I suppose a lot of you will likely use a browser to access gmail but anyway, what do you use to access your emails? Have you used any program that you disliked and if so why did you dislike it and what was it?

Asking as i'm still using Windows Live Mail 2012. Very dated i know. I'm guessing a lot of people have come off this now and curious what people are using.

  • I have used Thunderbird since just after its inception, had very few problems, use it for gmail, yahoomail , gmx, ISP mail and my own domain.

I mainly use the gmail web interface, seems nicer and easier to use than most email clients, but when using a client I use evolution on my laptop and gmail client for android on my phone.

I tried Outlook many years ago. Couldn’t really get to grips with it before settling on Outlook Express and then windows live mail.

I use gmail. I gave it access to all my other accounts.

I really should log into them and delete all the malware it refused to download sometime!

It's convienient and nice. There are downsides of course. But none that big in my view.

The alternative to me would have been to set up my own server to do much the same. And I am lazy.

At the end of the day. This is email. It's not important like it was in 1995. I would not care if the whole lot got deleted.
