Housing benefit question

I rent a property via a company let ( care company)
Is housing benefit generally paid straight to the landlord?
I would ask myself but my care companies staff who deal with my finances are away at the moment
Thanks :A

There is no generally really. It is something that has to be opted into, usually. When it is council/housing association properties it seems more likely, but again, there is no 'generally'0

I thought that housing benefit could only be paid to the LL if there were 8 weeks arrears or the tenant was vulnerable0

No, i've never been in arrears in 12 years of renting and i've had my rent paid straight to my LL for the past 6 years because my LL preferred it that way.Murphybear wrote: »I thought that housing benefit could only be paid to the LL if there were 8 weeks arrears or the tenant was vulnerable0
