Barclays just offered me £1913- help with a dilema required!!!

I have just received a letter from Barclays that states that after the court issued a 'Judgement for claimant (by default)' in my favour that they are willing to offer me the full amount i was asking for (£1913) if:
1. The sum of £1913 is paid by us in full and final settlement of your claim
2. There be a voluntary Stay of Execution pending payment.
3. That upon receiving payment you write to the Court stating that you have with drawn your claim pursuant to a settlement between the Parties.
4. That you consent to the default judgement being set aside.'
Basically they have offered me the full amount I was asking for if I tell the Court that the claim is dismissed.
I am inclined to take the money and run!
However, what concerns me is that if I accept the money, they will then close my account, leaving me with an overdraft to pay off, thus cutting into the money they pay me.
Has anyone else come across this situation?
Is it worth accepting the money but asking them to guarentee/sign an agreement not to close my account?
What do you think???
Thanks

If this is the first time you have claimed your charges back, they will probably not close your account.
Barclays gave me my charges back last year, after I claimed through court, it took them nearly 4 months to do so and they did not close my account. All I got was someone ringing me for an account review about 6mths later, I think they just wanted to make sure I would not be claiming again. I assured them I would not and that from now on, the goal is not to get to the point of being charged again.
But I know things have changed a lot in claiming the charges back process since then, so I am sure someone will be along with more info than I.
My advice is accept the money.I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0 -
take the money. They arent allowed to close your account. Im sure other banks have tried in the past. If they do you can complain to the ombudsman. Im behind on the latest as we claimed and won back in April. We asked HSBC to close the account and moved to Barclays.:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0
