Is a repair under warranty guaranteed?

In November 2016 we bought a Neff oven with a ‘slide & hide’ retractable door. In November 2018 the door broke and we had it repaired under warranty, just before the two year warranty expired. The same fault has now reoccurred and Neff say we will have to pay for the repair but the repair will carry a one year warranty.

It really surprises me that we should have to pay for this repair. Is there consumer law about whether repairs carried out under warranty are guaranteed?

The original warranty will stand so if you are outside the initial two year warranty it won't.
If it is exactly the same fault, i.e the new item has lasted around 10 months then you could challenge on quality of product, suitability for purpose etc.
Raising the question on public social media might get a response.
Depending on the cost of the new repair it may or may not be worth pursuing.
