Water softener

Live in a very hard water area and thinking of having a water softer installed. Something like this;

Monarch Ultimate Midi HE
monarchwater.co.uk/product/ultimate-midi/

I have some questions.

Anyone used this, or something like this? (my understanding is pretty much all water softeners that use salt regeneration have very similar performance). What are your impressions?

How noisy during use?
How noisy during regeneration?
How costly to run?
What's the water flow rate like?
Is it wort it?

I could ask a salesmsn of course, but the answer would have to be taken with a bag of salt.
